Here goes... this is the software license for the BeAIM source code. It just sets down a few guidelines as to how I would like the source code to be used... it probably won't hold up in court, and I couldn't prosecute anyway, so I didn't spend too much ti
me messing with it. The basic idea is that I don't want tons of modified versions of BeAIM floating around the net... I would rather just have one. So please just be nice and follow the rules. Thanks.
Greg's Source Code License
- In this license, "the software" refers to the source code covered by this license. In this case, the source code to BeAIM.
- You are free to copy and distribute verbatim copies of the software.
- You are free to make changes to the software if you do one of the following:
- Send me any changes you make so they can be assimilated into the main software distribution.
- Use the changed software, or any binaries that come from compiling it, only for yourself, or within your corporation or organization - don't release it to the public.
- If the software only makes up a part of the final work, all changes made to the software must be released to the public such that the modified version still performs its original functions.
- Any modified version must include the original copyright notices, and be clearly marked as modified, indicating what changes were made.
- You may distribute binary versions, provided above clauses are met. Before you do so, please check first at the home page of the software and see if a binary already exists that meet your criteria. If so, please use that one. If not, then please send
me a copy of any binaries that you make so I can post it for download with the others.
- And modified copies of the software will be considered derived works and must be licensed in such a way that the above requirements are met.
